“Once I’m convinced the company is back on track, I will pass the baton” to new management, he told the closed meeting

That's a mighty big 'trustme' from someone who's been shown not to be trustworthy.

I doubt if I'd be buying shares in a company with 60 million recalls worldwide. I just had my Takata airbag replaced.

So what, in another ten years? That statement is too generalized.

He should be going to prison, not collecting a pay-cheque. And this is a Japanese-hint at resigning, meaning he'll cling to said pay-cheque and this is just lip-service until it's clear he's going to face some serious law suits and or charges. THEN he'll resign to get off the hook.

This company deserves to be shut down, permanently, and all money it has in savings be paid as compensation.

What's this? A scandal in Japan you say? Inconceivable!

Takata shares surged on Tuesday after the airbag supplier’s boss reportedly said he would resign once the company recovers from a scandal linked to at least 13 deaths and scores of injuries globally.

Big assumption here.....

He should be going to prison, not collecting a pay-cheque.

While I understand the sentiment, what charges would you file against him?
