My late father in law used to work for Sharp in the 70s, he invented quite a few things that Sharp patented and make massive money for and didnt cough up with the bonus the promised him. Unethical companies like this deserve to fail internationally.

Sharp has become dull. The company no longer is as good as it use to be. I think sharp should close down for at least 3 to 4 years and try to reinvent itself rather than complain about the strong yen because no matter what they do, they will always be in a decline.

Or they might rather try to encourage China to stop controlling its exchange rate.

Whenever the yen is strong, Japan complains that that it doesn’t represent true economic fundamentals so Japan inc goes about manipulating currency rates.., So weasely… …No, Japan…it’s time you played on a level playing field… A great deal of its success is attributable to the fact that until the early 70s, the yen was pegged at 360 yen to the dollar…and the fact that it had (and has) unfettered access to western markets…Something that is not reciprocated…Every time the yen starts to rise though, Japan goes on its ridiculous whining game of lowering it and giving its export economy the upper hand…. Suck it Japan and learn to live with it…

I love my Aquos flat-panel but I am not a fan of their latest products. In Bic Camera a few weeks ago I saw the newest Aquos and they were not only less-appealing than the competitors, the tech wasn't as good.

Sony has really outdone them lately.

Sharp can cry and cry about the strong yen, but many other companies are doing just fine, the Koreans are selling about half of all the tvs sold in Latin America.

He he-- I think even OBAMA's counting on a good year for the Korean markets. And their two-way trade is now worth more than $65 bil =/
