Sharp to boost sales of environmental products
OSAKA —
Sharp Corp hopes to boost sales of its health- and environment-related products to one trillion yen in fiscal 2012, which marks the 100th anniversary of its establishment. The envisioned figure would represent a four-fold increase from the fiscal 2007 level.
As part of its efforts to achieve the target, Sharp last week unveiled a series of new products, including an ion generator, air purifiers and lighting equipment using light-emitting diodes. They will be released between Monday and Nov 1. Sharp President Mikio Katayama stressed the importance of globally expanding the health- and environment-related equipment business, adding that the firm intends to beef up marketing for corporate clients as well as households.
