    what a waste of food. Do you know how many tons of food are dumped by the major mini marts in Japan ? Do you know how many homeless/poor people who need something to eat in Japan ?

    This is a waste !!!!

    haha, japan fair trade Commission, yeah i bet they really are. I wonder if there is a japan workers rights commission or japan sexual equality commission, haha.

    This problem has been going on for years. They should be able to sell them cheaper to at least make up for the cost for what they paid. Actually, lots of out dated stuff is still good too, but I am sure that would be abused if they were allowed to sell the stuff.

    These stores are so tied into the main computer banks, that if items were sold at a discount the main computer banks would pick up on it. In the old days, it was easy to do.

    memyselfi: Waste is a requirement of Capitalism, the system doesn't work without it.

    The shops can now sell at discount prices, but the arrogant monopolistic top of the company will now have to compensate the hardworking operators for lost revenues. I think the company will also have to make an effort to regain the trust of customers who are dismayed at the chain's principles and waste of food involved.
