TOKYO —
Snow Brand Milk Products Co said Thursday it will raise the prices of 85 of its home-use products by between 7% and 33%, starting with Aug 1 shipments.
The price hike comes in response to surging materials costs. The company last raised prices only in February. Items subject to the price rises include 50 cheese products.

Pay attention to their 'chirashi' not newspaper/website announcements you will find petty cheap/discount items there.

...due to the rising cost of poisons used in their products.

Margarine. Never eat the stuff. But cheese. I have to have cheese every day - as long as it is CHEESE, I mean not processed cheese, which is a terrible misnomer as THAT product does not even come close to cheese :-) I'll buy (real) cheese in bulk from now on!

It took me a whole year to adjust my baking recipes to work with the butter here... because the companies put in more water to save money! I wonder if I'll have to go through that same process again?

Price hikes every 6 months ? 33% in some cases. If my salary would only follow suit !

Isn't Snowbrand Meg Milk now?
presto345 - How come you never eat margarine? Tastes like butter, spreads easier than butter, and is WAY cheaper. And it's no worse for you than butter - both are basically fat.

Sarge, make an appointment immediately with the doctor to have your taste buds checked. There is something very, very wrong there!
The good thing about butter being more expensive is that it makes people (ie me) think twice before slathering loads of it on my toast or over my new potatoes. A little of wot you fancy does do you good, so it's OK to spread butter on your toast - just don't go daft with it.

Cleo - I'm sorry, I neglected to mention that I eat only Promise Buttery Margarine Spread. That stuff tastes more like butter than butter - promise! ( I'm holding up one hand with two fingers extended and my other hand over my heart like the Boy Scout I used to be ) ( Well, OK, Cub Scout )
New potatoes?
