A company, Sony, that is losing billions because it has lost its place in the marketplace, investing in a company, Olympus, that lost billions because it lost its ability to determine right from wrong. Sounds like a match made in Japan Inc. merger heaven.

Clearly, people don't do any research before looking at the article. I can write a whole page as to why SONY sucks, but Olympus does have the medical imaging technologies that Sony can definitely use. Might as well buy it when it's cheap and no one else wants to touch the scandalous company with a ten foot pole.

They should get a seat on the board and while getting some of that sweet medical equipment sales by using Sony imaging chips. This plays to their strengths. Sony is already the largest supplier of imaging chips in the world and also the fast growing. This in addition to their recent billion dollar expansion to supply more stacked CMOS sensors for mobile phones shows that they do have at one division worth investing heavily in.
