Takata to double output of replacement airbags

Do the customers affected by the recall have a choice? I would rather have Takata pay to replace the defective airbags with another company's airbag.

Basically they still don't know why so why is the replacement any safer?

Great. They couldn't admit to any mistake, and now they're double timing the replacements which may be no different than the original airbags and their staff is going to supposedly fix this important problem under stress, fatigue, and considerable pressure from their bosses.
