While I respect Mr. Musk quite a bit, why do people keep believing this fantasy? Are Google or Tesla going to be liable for the first pedestrian hit by one of these things?

That's funny. I went around the corner but I didn't see anything.

Puff - yeah, that expression is an obvious abuse of your intelligence... It's not so much a technical, but a legislative issue. Insurance companies might even support this (in a reasonable way) given that automated driving will be so much safer overall than human driving...

This self driving car stories are not new. Several Japanese automakers already demonstrated in Automobile convention in Las Vegas quite a while ago.

Good for blind peoples. They can go anywhere they like in future. I hope the Company will use up to date correct GPS maps.

At this point, Tesla isn't even a drop in the bucket. It doesn't matter what models they come out with, as long as the oil industry can keep satisfying the demand for oil. The effect of Tesla on the global car industry will be negligible. Most people aren't going to buy a Tesla because they are worried about the environment. They will only buy a Tesla because is is cheaper to buy and run than an internal combustion engine vehicle. And that won't happen for a long, long time. If Tesla is your only car, you cannot drive for long distance (400km) without a charging station, and many places don't have this. In a internal combustion engine vehicle, you only need 5 minutes to fill your tank and go another 600km.
