SENDAI —
A shopping mall with 120 stores opened Friday in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, becoming the largest of its kind in the Tohoku region in northeastern Japan.
The Mitsui Outlet Park Sendaiko, located on an 87,000-square-meter plot in the city’s Miyagino Ward, includes shops selling 11 brands making debuts in Japan, and is expected to fuel already fierce competition in the city where large-scale malls are continuing to open.
