The limited, prudent use of American and allied air power near and in the Kurdish part of Iraq will save tens of thousands of lives, with minimal threat to allied air crews, since the ISIS forces do not have the advantage of advanced air defense weapons. The targeting attacking ISIS forces, along with arming the defending forces, is the right thing to do, and should encourage the markets, not destabilize them.
