Japan Inc. is basically Tokyo. I don't understand this obsession with sticking all of your eggs in one basket. Renting office space @¥17,000/tsubo? How is any small business or start-up supposed to afford that? Oh right, there's practically no entrepreneurship (an example of real economic growth) in Japan anyway...

Tokyo office rents have climbed to their highest since April 2011 as the economy gathers steam and demand for >office space increases.

The Japanese economy is gathering steam? Really?

Japan Shocked To Find Abenomics Is Destroying Its Middle Class

Japan is still old economy, old decision makers, old ideas, old population with bits & pieces of young things here and there on the fringe. It is still brick & mortar after so much talk about Abenomics. Basically very, very easy monetary policy with loose fiscal policy by big spending government with more and more government debts accumulated for further generation to settle since the 1990s.

You would have to be a masochist to be an entrepreneur in a country with a 55% tax rate. If you fail you lose your investment, if you succeed the government takes most of your profit.

Are you speaking of Japan? I pay nothing close to 55% in taxes.

55% is the top rate now - 45 national, 10 local

It's the top rate, but it's not the rate everyone is paying.

For a corporation required to pay tax in Japan it first needs to register profit. Most corporation will file tax deductions through cost so the books doesn't look as they are making much profit.

Traveling Sales I think you need a good accountant.
