Tokyo stocks end flat

TOKYO —

Tokyo stocks ended flat Wednesday in directionless trade, as a strengthening yen erased earlier gains on a larger-than-expected rise in Japanese machinery orders for September. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.95 point from Tuesday to 9,871.68. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.15 point to 872.29.

After opening higher on better-than-expected machinery data and the Dow Jones index’s fresh 13-month high, Tokyo stocks gradually lost steam amid pressure from the U.S. dollar’s retreat into the lower 89 yen range, brokers said. Weak performance in Shanghai and other key Asian markets following the release of Chinese data such as industrial output also weighed on the market.

9.8 K to 10K range is most likely for time being for N225.

Global economic trade is growing but at slow steady and stable upward pace. Jobs can only increase in slow steady upward pace now.

Steady upward pace, with caution, likely to be way to growth, in global future economy.

Sorry, this remark made me smile. The last thing Japan needs are foreign investment funds. They don't need overseas money. What they DO need is foreign know-how. Something certain posters obviously lack in.
