Tokyu Hands to open 20 smaller outlets over 3 years

TOKYO —

Tokyu Hands Inc said Tuesday that it will launch about 20 outlets, which are smaller than existing stores, in the next three years. The new stores, including “Hands Be” brand outlets, will be opened mainly in commercial buildings near railway stations in Tokyo and major local cities, according to the company.

The first Hands Be outlet will open on June 2 in a commercial complex located near Hokkaido Railway Co.‘s Sapporo Station in northern Japan. The envisaged new outlets will have a sales floor space of less than 1,000 square meters.
