    You mean the NHTSA that still permit rear turn signals to emit red light while almost every other country uses amber light to discern them from brake lights? Yeah, let's listen to their expertise.

    Thought about that. Is the amber light thing new? I don't remember those when I drove in Europe. Maybe I'm misremembering :(

    It's not about if I have much choice or not. It's about the NHTSA not following world standards on many issues similar to those rear signals. So why would Toyota listen to them?

    Sure, such a hard task to fit different light covers to a car, expect they already do it for overseas markets like europe, ditto for US cars, etc.

    If you feel that Toyota got screwed over I have very little sympathy for them given all the shenanigans the Japanese authorities have pulled over the years. As you reap you sow.

    That seems very much necessary, as Toyota (beside Nokia, McDonalds and BP) is the most hated company in the US.
