The only US-market Toyota-made car that will likely use these new small-displacement engines will be the Toyota iQ, branded Scion iQ in the US market. Hopefully, we'll see a larger-displacement engine using these new technologies, and that could make it to the Toyota Yaris hatchback/saloon models sold in the USA.

You would not think 10% fuel efficiency would matter, but now it does. So is this a case of Toyota following Mazda's example.
