I am happy Toyota is doing good, but with the horrible economy here in Japan, I can not believe they do not LOWER their prices! So too bad, no Toyota for me, I will stick to my Nissan!

"emerging markets"
Traffic and pollution is becoming a serious problem in emerging market China. It's only going to get worse, because even if every new passenger car was a hybrid or electric car, which won't be the case, you'll have all these diesel trucks transporting the increased volumes of stuff, and there's no alternative to them in the foreseeable future.

No time to lay low. Toyota is just giving a small warning of the revenge they are planning to come back with.

They will need to shift a lot of production overseas unless Japan joins the crowd and devalues the Yen.

@Elbuda: How can Toyota lower prices when they are actually losing money because of the economic crisis?
Back to the topic: I wonder how many of this figure would actually be produced and exported from Japan. With today's report about Toyota China to start making Prius, that means one car model taken off the exports list. I know that other Prius models would still be exclusively made in Japan, but with all the new assembly lines opening in other countries, this means that Japan would be able to export less.
Ouch.
