    I have driven Kia,Toyota,Mercedes Benz,Nissan,Audi,Daihatsu,Ford ,Mitsubishi,Ssangyong and few others.

I find every national make and model has its own unique excellence.

So why not Koreans buy more Japanese cars and Japanese buy more Korean cars.

There unique differenece between Korean cars and Japanese cars.

Korean carmakers, made it big much later, than Japan in car making.

Japan trade surplus of 32700 million with Korea, should make Japan buy more korean made products,to lower trade surplus.

I have never driven a South Korean car, but I know many Americans have and are driving Hyudais etc...I am surprised they are not sold here in Japan. As far as I know, I have never ever seen any Korean cars here. Can anybody tell me if Korean cars are allowed to be sold here in strict Japan??

    Hello elbudamexicano

Hyundai is actually sold in Japan..Please go to Hyundai Motors website in yahoo and find out more about it..In fact, last year throughout Japan's auto market, Hyundai sold 492 cars..Not a lot but American cars aren't too popular in Japan either..When I visited Tokyo from Seoul,Korea, I saw only 3~4 U.S.A. cars..And I am sure the car quality of U.S.A. are just as good as Japanese cars..So why don't Japanese buy more foreign cars?

Japanese people are rich people and they can afford to buy more foreign cars but Koreans and Japanese are so econo-nationalistic that they buy only Hyundais and Toyotas respectively..Since more than 90% of cars sold in Korea are local brands so it will be difficult for Toyota to break Korean automobile barriers..So far BMW,U.S.A.'s Big 3,Porsche,Jaguar,Volvo,Ferrari,Peugeot and other Western auto makers hardly made a splash in Korean auto market so I doubt whether Japanese autos will be sucessful in Korea at all..Good luck to Toyotas and other Japanese cars in Korea...
