Toyota had better start selling more cars in the largest car market in the world, China.

Good Idea Sarge, unfortunately GM already rules the roost there... having by-passed Japan years ago to set up factories and dealerships. GM commands a hefty 30% of the market share and led all foreign auto makers with 1.09 million cars sold last year. Toyota will have an uphill battle in the last remaining viable market for cars... something about left-over bitterness of WWII and Japans snobby arrogance evr since. I for one don't agree with that viewpoint... but then again, I'm not Chinese !

Toyota should expand more via other business other than cars. Toyota should use its economic power to diversify away more from car business,to reduce losses.
With more diversified business, toyota will be able to reduce its economic woes and reduce loses from too big car business policy.

Toyota should start booking numbers according to actual builds and they wouldn't have such a hefty loss on only 4% sales drop.

The higher you climb, the deeper you can fall - without seat belts.
