So basically it'll be rolled into the total price of the car, with the hope the buyer won't recognize the expense that's added on the invoice?

Wow, it's time to trade in my Honda for a Toyota.

Yeah the majority of sudden unintended acceleration cases are due to driver error. Just like the 1980's Audi Unintended acceleration cases which was blown way out of proportion by the media.

Toyota has once again positioned itself as the world leader in 'eco cars' (both hybrid & electric vehicles).

I will not buy another Toyota after the way the company put the public at risk by lying and covering up safety issues. No thank you.

A witch hunt the American Media and GM Owning US Government should be absolutely ashamed of.

Scheduled maintenance is when they secretly update the computer chip controlling the car's engine and management systems, getting rid of bugs and faults discovered by other drivers. Too bad it re-sets all your personal settings.

Anyone who thinks this is the 1st time or the last time a major manufacturer of anything covers up public safety risk is naive.
Eggs, tobacco, cars, medication...and the list goes on...

Exactly. Obama and his union thug buddies bullied Toyota. Problem be, quality is quality and GM and Chrysler don't build high quality vehicles. My question would be how is the yen-dollar exchange rate affecting the cost of Toyotas?

Chrysler doesn't. GM is competitive with Toyota everywhere in the world, but one country - care to guess what country that is?

This is a good move, as a bulk offering it's cost effective even if it's simply included in the cost of the car.

A new car should not need a jump start.

Americans can be bought quite cheap, if this is all it takes.

Good idea. I also love BMW's 4 year 50K miles free maintenance programme too. The car keeps good value when you sell it for a new one at 3 years.

Bebert61 - you think Obama forced the recalls? ALL the recalls were initiated by Toyota, in response to documented fatalities owing to Toyota design flaws. By some counts the death tally is 37, you contend this was all made up by "Obama and his union thug buddies?"
You are about as bright as Sarah Palin (I know, you take that as a compliment)
