Is it just me that thinks the translator here overuses and possibly misinterprets the word "hike"?

It's not particularly sudden as they have been mumbling about this for some time so is it shap? In this case they are talking about 3% (which is actually quite a lot compared to some of the other recent "hikes") but to me sharp would have at least been double figures. But then I am not a linguist so maybe I have this all wrong.
Market forces - demand for hybreds is going up, raw material costs are going up so it is reasonable to put prices up in this environment.

2-3% hike too low considering 20-30% hike in food prices.

3 percent hike ,will equal how many percent, unit sales fall.
