Let the better, more fuel efficient and a cheaper car win the market. For me a hybrid is still a "gas-guzzler" and i will decide to replace my daihatsu mira only when they make a long mileage electric plug in car that will take me out for a real darn clean ride and make me feel good knowing that i am doing my best in reduction of green house gasses...

Toyota bang on about the hybrids to satisfy the green community, however if you were to look at the technology in European diesel engines they can match if not better the hybrid models for mileage. I mean 740mile range on a 10 gallon tank (VW Polo bluemotion) is impressive.

The problem is, California calls the shots on Green Technology in the USA and California has an irrational hatred of diesel engines.
