Sad news. I always used Kodak film in the 1970s and 1980s. In fact, back then, if someone had told me that one day, there would be cameras that don't use film, I would never have believed it.

Kodak was the best film there was ... but as electronics evolved, Kodak was simply left behind and never recovered.

Shame, this is one of America's most iconic brands succumbing to obsolescence and resistance to management. Perhaps with competent management, this company can shed its unprofitable assets and try to become competitive once more. If worse comes to worse, its valuable segments may be sold off to competitors like Fujifilm and Kodak will be no more. I still vividly remember memories of my parents and I going to a Kodak retail unit to have a friendly Korean man have our pictures ready within a few hours. It is amazing what a decade or two can do totally transform an industry and make it difficult for companies to operate its business models.
