pffffttt.... The auto manufacturers would be better off WITHOUT the UAW completely...

That would go true for CAW also. See how they were successful in holding their ground with Navistar? Navistar decided to shut the plant down completely and moved its operations out of Ontario.

Wow, can you count the lies? ALL unions - not just the UAW - are only interested in one thing: membership. The more union members, the less likely there will be skilled people who would rather work than carry signs at the next strike. Also, more union members means the union coffers are enriched with more union dues.

He said strong unions will boost vehicle quality and improve the bottom line for companies as well as workers.

I've seen it first-hand. The only thing a strong union will boost is inefficiency. Mandated coffee, cigarette, and union "literature" breaks whether it's needed or not. Grievances filed if you do something you're perfectly capable of performing safely and efficiently when it intrudes on a union worker's job description. Time wasted to investigate said grievances and meet to try and smooth the union foreman's ruffled feathers. UNIONS = WASTED TIME = REDUCED PRODUCTION = LOST REVENUE.

What a load of crap. It's so obvious that King is just saying this now because all UAW jobs are in serious jeopardy.
