Underwear maker Triumph to close 48 outlets
TOKYO —
Underwear maker Triumph International (Japan) Ltd will close 48 stores in Japan before the end of the year, President Christian Thoma said Tuesday. Triumph, which currently has 310 shops in Japan, will close outlets that deal in low-priced products in a bid to raise profitability. The cost of closing down the shops is expected to total one billion yen.
Meanwhile, the company intends to open 20 new stores during the year. For the current business year through December, Triumph plans to report sales that are slightly larger than 50.6 billion yen for the previous year, when it opened new shops and closed 25.

A bra-ve move from Triumph. Wonder if it'll affect their bottom line...

Triumph makes superior garments, but today's generation doesn't care too much about looks. Cheap made-in- china will do. They will find out their choice was wrong when it is too late!
