Wow. It'll be interesting to see how they maintain their sales and popularity mid-long term. I remember when GAP was the big thing, now they're not.

Im sure TADASHI YANAI is putting away something for a rainy day.

Me and the wife have probs given them 500,000 yen over all these years and my lads drawers and mine are full of Uni gear. The Chief Exec deserves to be the richest guy in the country. Though he should of kept manufacturing here to help out... but thats business. I knew when the doomed economy would get a swift kick Uniqlo, conbinis and MacDs stock, stores and plans would prosper.

The commpany will continue to grow, especially in Japan, as they have realized that not everyone is a size 0. Its a life saver to many gaijin who werent blessed with 'petiteness'.

Uniqlo offers great quality of materials for lower prices than most. Other than the recent designer lines, Uniqlo clothing tends to have classic cut and simple, elegant lines so it is very easy to combine with garments one already owns. Uniqlo's materials are so good that I have long-sleeves cotton jersey shirts 5 years old that look like new!
Just for the sake of commenting, Japanese people are not petite. Petite means back length of 15 inches or less. Average people have 16 inches or more (as is the case of Japanese people with their long torso and shorter legs). I am petite, and as such it's difficult for me to find jackets or one-piece dresses that don't crease at my back, because my torso is shorter than the average Japanese woman.

Sorry but uniqlo needs a size bigger than XL (which would be XS in the States!)

Among the top 76 richest, only UNIQLO/Tadashi Yanai ,from Japan made it.
There need to be more Japanese at the top richest, to push N225 and japan companies up.

Yes, and shoes for women in my size of 26.6 would be swell. It's murder trying to dress nicely and not like a guy when I'm 5'10"/175cm and just a bit larger than all those cute girls. Sigh. Mail order or a trip to Hawai'i and Nordstroms in my future I guess. I can get some things at Muji. Eddie Bauer. Will check out Uniqlo. Go for impact.
