Yep, chickens finally coming home to roost in China. Corrupt, dirty oligarchy that treats its own people like dirt. And then continuallt whines about the injustices it has suffered in the past from Japan/the WEst/Russia/whoever.
China, just like the USA is one grand "melting pot" of different races, ethnicities, religions, etc..so we should not be so surprised. One day, China will have it's own Obama! If they are lucky.
wakarimasen: are you saying that Japan didn't commit injustices in China and throughout Asia?
Chickens seem to be coming home to roost everywhere, and not just in China.

You mean if they're lucky they'll have someone who will do his best to destroy their economy, and who is completely incompetent at both foreign and domestic policy? Yeah, personally, my opinion is, that if they're lucky, they'll never have to suffer through an Obama. Although considering the Chicago style politics practiced by Obama, methinks they've probably already got one.
China is sitting on a time bomb with their internal problems. The dogma of the Maoist system has spread propaganda about equality and unity for decades, yet the reality in China is now one of the worst examples of capitalism. The very rich enjoy lives that are another world away from the working masses. This gap between political expectation and socio-economic reality is dangerous. Sooner or later the working majority will start to act out and demand balance. And this may undo China or at least destabilize it.
Every Chinese dynasty in history has succumbed to corruption and infighting and I suppose the communist dynasty will be the same. A federal China with stronger local governments and true rule of law might do better. I don't expect that the locals are going to feel properly represented any other way.
It is true that China has huge problem with inequality & corruption. So do us. At least they treat their ethnic minorities for favourable treatments with concession for university entrance, more babies production and Public sector employments.
How many people from Okinawa and Hokkaido got university degrees? How many homeless and underprivillaged got volcational education? Our politians are corrupted and mishandling the public finance too. No nation in this world is perfect and clean except the USA.
That's where I get lost. So what's the big deal with getting a degree? Not that it isn't fun though, but those places are so fertile, in order to survive, the necessities are there. Beyond that it would seem most people's goals are along the lines of family, friends and having a good time, right, so I think it is lifestyle attitudes.

Not for 64 years. China's doing it to her own people right now.
Pukey2 at 11:03 PM JST - 22nd July
So will you forget China's injustices in 64 years time?
OssanAmerica at 12:09 AM JST - 23rd July
Doesn't matter if I forget or not. The relevant question is whether the people of China will forget or not.
