World leaders should ponder how not to punish NK and how to bring Kim under International umbrella.

It is obvious N Korea is just doing this to get attention. He is like the chubby spoiled brat no one like as a child They want to be asked go to a negotiating table so they can demand new stuff. Other than selling rocket technology the rest of the countries aid comes from countries offering free aid. Whenever money is running low or a new administration comes into play they create a new stunt to renew their contracts. It is the same routine. The cycle of stupidity must stop.
I say cut off the funding. One reason is because it almost never goes where it is really needed which is the people. But the idiot in charge has been living large for decades. Second reason this way of thinking simply enables NK to continue to act this way. They want to join the international community they must first grow up. Which means put away their childish things.

In a strange way, this DPRK launch can help Japan, not in the immediate area, but in the international community. This launch is a clear violation of Japan's territorial integrity which would magnify the violation of territorial integrity related to abduction of Japanese nationals. The UNSC may not come to terms w/ the launch, but I think it is the General Assembly that may see relevance. Most countries try to maintain their territorial integrity, but there are some jerks that have to have their way. This is a larger issue that the General Assembly can deliberate on. This is a fight between "hard power" and "soft power". Japan has shown that they can do well w/ "soft power".

Perhaps all of the countries, including the neighbouring countries, start a total embargo and walk away from the talks, and also immediately halting any and all traffic of aid and monies into and out of NK.
The neighbouring countries can also start increasing their military spending for defense against any future NK aggression, and such spending may be able to boost the economies of the countries by increased purchases of heavy industrial goods and high-tech products.
Meanwhile NK goes further back into the stone ages with no fuel and/or food and their starved citizens can revolt against the fat toad leader.
(well, one could wish for a simple solution such as the above...)

Blame all those countries supporting this regime by doing business and sending in all the food to Pyongyang. The fat asian Hitler must be getting food support from trade from somewhere. This missile-firing will only get more support for Japan.

It's just so easy. Stop sending any more food or aid to North Korea. It's one thing if this food were actually reaching the poor, but almost all of it is seized by the government, given to the rich, and sold on the black market. We've had over a decade of documentation of this by video, eyewitness, and people from the black market. In fact, North Korea is the only aid country in the world where as official policy they seize the aid at their borders and distribute it on their own while locking out mandatory aid monitors. At least in African countries when this happens, the aid stops.
Stop sending aid, until you can verify it goes to the hungry poor and not the greedy rich. In any case, the country will collapse in under a year without food and energy aid. With China supplying much of the energy aid, it'll be up to them. If China really wants, they can be the one and only donor to North Korea.
People say aid gives us leverage, but the fact is it hasn't. It has instead emboldened NK to treat us like hostages in a holdup.

I agree with most posters that all aid, food energy everything must stop. If no one wants a military solution, then that's the only solution left to effect a regime change. Force them into a surrender without fring a shot. The world is ready to help the people of this country but we're sick and tired of feeding the dictatorship in power.

This is such an non issue. I think the world is trying to use North Korea as a decoy to steer attention away from their FAILURE to handle global economic crisis. North Korea did NOTHING wrong. Just because the technology behind ballistic missile and satellite launching rocket are the same, doesn't mean that they cannot have a space mission.
However, they shouldn't as they are absolutely rubbish at it and they should rather spend money on getting food for themselves. but this is their internal problem.
Bottom line: leave North Korea alone! They are not going to attack anyone. Give them time and their socialism will collapse just like it did everywhere else. Meanwhile Obama should stop building socialism.

Invite the leader to Disney Land and then strictly enforce the height requirement on all the rides…
