A 40-year-old Korean national was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a woman outside a convenience store in Tokyo.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 1:05 a.m. Tuesday outside a FamilyMart store in Sangenjaya, Setagaya Ward, Fuji TV reported. Police said the suspect, Kim Hwi Jun, who works as a programmer, is accused of stabbing the woman in the head after she left the store.
The woman staggered back into the store and an employee called police.
Police said Kim has denied the charge. He and the victim said they don't know each other.
The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
