Police in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, have arrested a 15-year-old junior high school student on suspicion of attempted murder after he strangled his 4-year-old sister at home.
According to police, the boy strangled his sister in the living room at home at around 9 p.m. on Sept 30, Fuji TV reported. Another family member noticed the girl had lost consciousness and called 119. She was taken to hospital where she was in a stable condition, police said Thursday.
The hospital reported the injury to police.
The boy was quoted by police as saying: "I cannot say anything now."

Everyday some kid kills another or is killed by predators and even their own parents... Most parents focus so much on putting food on the table by working day and night, that they forget the most important is showing them love... And those grow up to be crazy ppl that kill for no reason...

Could have been a simple fight, but then again usually they end in strikes not strangling..:

Cortes - There is nothing 'simple' about a 15 year old boy trying to kill his 4 year old sister. There is something very wrong with this boy (and possibly the family). I hope the girl recovers.

Wow where is the family love in Japan?

Disillusioned - Yeah I'm not saying it's simple to try to kill somone.

Sad news here coming out of Hiroshima. Reminds me of a young "Michael Myers" (from Halloween flick) trying to kill his younger sis.

I hope they find him another place to live, far away. The girl needs to finish growing up without fear.

On the one hand you say that the parents work so hard to feed their kids and then the next minute you blame them for not showing them love... which one is it mate? I have friends who are Japanese parents and they do their best to bring up their kids... you can't blame them for working too hard. If they were unable to provide for their kids you'd accuse them of neglect... they can't win, can they?

Seriously. I wish someone would do some in depth research into these psychopathic young men. I don't mean to single out Japan - I get that it happens all over the world, and I would be equally interested in the research coming out of other places too. But Japan has it's own unique culture, society, family dynamics that are considered "normal". I would love to see what it is about Japan specifically that breeds these troubled teenagers. Absent fathers? Stressed out mothers? Lack of physical affection? Pressure to perform? Abusive parents? I wish we could get under the skin of this and figure it out.
