HYOGO —
A 15-year-old school boy was found unconscious, bleeding from the mouth in a park in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, on Monday night. He was taken to hospital but remains in a critical condition, police said Tuesday.
According to police, the boy was found by his friend lying on the ground in the park at around 7:45 p.m. Police said that injuries to head and face indicate he had been beaten, but neither his wallet nor mobile phone were stolen.

Hyogo is a very dangerous place. The reputation is getting much worse now.

I am afraid the local parks have become killing grounds in Japan. Bike gangs, high school and junior high school punks call whomever they hold a grudge against to the local kiddie plaground and then beat the s**t out of them, sometimes with deadly results. The thing I find surprising about this story is that the boy was found at 7:30 PM which sounds really early. Most time these beating occur in the middle of the night. Hard to believe nobody saw or heard this happening.

Yep, I'd put my money on a punk just coming up to him and king hitting him from behind to prove he's a punk. Hope the kid's ok.

Miki is almost if not countryside in Hyogo it is nowhere near the big cities. Another game gone wrong?

7:45PM is time when all crooks come out from their nests, and boy should be home earlier. I assume that some little 'scum tad' was just showing off his muscles. Hope that this boy didn’t owe any money to someone.

sad story, recently I just open JT and see so many sad stories of crimes, accidents, injuries and deaths... hopefully the boy recovers and the perpetrator of the crime is found.

LoveUSA: this has been the world for a time. Hyogo used to not be so bad, but criminals know how to spot a potential victim easily, People used to only beat someone for revenge but now if they can get away with it, why not? You should always be alert and aware of your surroundings. Even if it seems paranoid, someday it could save your from death or injury.
