Why is it that stabbing and/or death seems to be the answer to everything here lately? Falling grades are bad, but killing is OK? Just plain stupid.

Why is it that stabbing and/or death seems to be the answer to everything here lately?

Because the news did not report the hundreds of millions of times people chose other solutions????

A rare and extreme case, everywhere but in national news reports. It does not represent Japanese society.

    Saitama AGAIN!

At least she kept it in the family and not killed innocent bystanders. Darwins theory of natural selection seem to fall into place somewhere in these recent murders.

The school system again! Tired of studying? Didn't want to tell her aprents her grades had fallen?

probation officers will examine her development process and personality in order to clarify the background of the incident.

    The school system!!

School system had nothing to do with this. This was a kid who didn't like her life and blamed other people for it. I'm telling y'all, people that kill theselves like this, jumping off of buildings into crowds, jumping in front of crowded trains, have a good dose of self loathing AND general anger at the world. They want to kill themselves, but only if they can get back at the world at the same time.

I don't think a kid who has any memories, no matter how slight, of a happy loving supportive family as a child could possibly do something like this.

‘I was tired of studying and relationships with others,’’ and ‘‘I tried to kill all of my family members and commit suicide before they knew that my grades had fallen.’’

sounds like little Hitler blew a fuse.

She sounds very disturbed. I'm not trying to excuse her behavior, but I'm just wondering if there's more at play here than just a spoiled girl who didn't want to do her homework...

  • bamboohat at 11:27 PM JST - 10th August

Well, she got what she wanted. There's no homework where she's going.

****Beware of 15 yr olds in Japan. In just a few weeks too many vicious crimes have been committed by kids that age.

yeah, the young are turning on the old. Sounds like a movie.

‘‘I tried to kill all of my family members and commit suicide before they knew that my grades had fallen.’’

Permenent solution to a temporary problem.

What is the driving age for teenagers in Japan? Maybe she didnt want to be shamed in front of her friends. Her parents may have discussed the rules to have good grades equals drivers license.
