Bullies and violent behaviors shoul be stopped...i'm glad those 2 students are arrested and punished by the laws.

Right.. enough attitudes like that and we'll be walking into a police state in no time as society falls apart. Most of the bullies I think are on this board.

I think it's great to have a window into what these kids were thinking. Poor teens with low self esteem? That's nothing new. These kids need love and guidance and valid reasons to feel good about themselves. That's what I get from this. And I'm sure they're not alone.

Maybe if High School was obligatory and free for all to attend, and must attend!, then there would be a lot less stress on so called senior Junior High Kids. What do they have to look forward to? ¥750 working at McDonalds?

In a way, not directing the blame at themselves feeling there is something wrong with themselves, but rather directing it at the outside world that there is something wrong with them is not a bad thing. In fact, it's encouraging that the young generation is waking up to this. However expressing it through violence is not helping the good cause.

i dont blame anyone. those victims may bully someone themselves in their schools.

A sad, unnecessary story, what kind of adults produce such characteristics in their own children? They need to be in an environment that will nurture and care for them.

A lot of bullies are from poor backgrounds. This is a good example.

I suppose the parents are to blame? Man Oh man, seems like things are getting worse and worse.

Excellent point Yelnats. It seems as if the education system and society dtermine you lot in life at an early stage, and it is hard to break out of your "caste" if you don't have the right connections.

Even though the American school system is flawed also, you at least get a chance to work your way out of it by getting a chance to go to a college if you have the grades or the athletic ability to do so. True that does not guarentee success, but at least you have a shot and maybe not as much of feeling of despair as these 2 female students supposedly have.

Look at the past presidential elections in America; specifically Sarah Palin (this it not to promote her agenda). Do you think a person with her background (ordinary parents, public high schools, attened several colleges (not big named private elite schools on the east coast)); probably not the highest in her classes; was able to get elected to the mayor and then govenor of Alaska, and then as a VP running mate?

I doubt these 2 females would have the same opportunity in Japan with their backgrounds. But still, this does not give them an excuse in doing what they did, even if the kids they beat up were teasing them about not having the designer clothes and clean clothes.

I wonder what their parents think, as they probably work to provide as best they can for their daughters only to have their efforts deemed not good enough for them.

I’ve been so miserable at home

They should take it out on their own parents. Keep it in the family and facilitate the culling process.

that is why I would never want to live in a Danchi, cause in the end I'll have to send my kid to the same school.

That is really scary that people would beat up someone simply because they were "happy" and "loved". Violence makes no sense to me to begin with but violence like this is horrific. As for "What do they have to look forward to? ¥750 working at McDonalds?" Thats no reason to beat someone up! They can seek being happy too. They just need to realize happiness doesnt come from being "rich". Poor people are sometimes happier than rich people. Also they dont have to work at McDonalds. Instead of sulking about what they dont have, they can do things to better their lives, but they preferred to drag others down to their level rather than trying to raise themselves up. Things like this are scary to me as a parent.

These chicks are hot. C'mon, enough moralizing. Didn't we all want to hang out with girls like this when we were in high school?

  • shouganaika at 11:18 AM JST - 22nd January

fair enough, lock the parents up as well then and everyone's a winner baby

Notice that these 14 and 15 year old girls beat up a 12 year old and a 13 year old. Bet they wouldn`t have taken on a girl their own age/size. This is bullying pure and simple. If I was the Mum of that 12 or 13 year old I would want to see them fry.

Props to the five girls for giving the privileged their just desserts!

Now, let's see you be a gang of Maid Marions, and share the wealth obtained by your notorious exploits.
