It's more than likely that the murders in this case of "my road syndrome" knew their attackers. Judging by the ages of the victims and one of the killers, it is safe to say the problem is from "way back"

Scrapyard worker killed by junk dealer------ The old woman lost her source of income at her age prison makes the most sense. Same as the old hag who slashed two women last week.
