Allright, Caveman lawyer. I'll agree with your well argued point. More options, more baby hatches, less shame, more condoms, more access to family planning information and materials. More options so people realize that it is possible to actually take responsibility for their actions. Take responsibility so another 16 or 17 y/o kid doesn't get pregnant and have nowhere to turn except some dark alley of shame.
As usual 90% of people use these comments to bay for blood as therapy for their bad experiences in Japan.
There is a lot wrong with the legal system, but when a judge, with better knowledge of the facts than us, decides to show some compassion and even bothers to adjust a previous ruling, is not the time to attack it.
What she done is now the past. If I was the judge she will not ruse me. She should do the right thing and report to police. The original sentence should be staying. Very funy judiciary system. She should be behind the bars, as an example to other young mothers. Well she was a minor at the time. Who is lucky Dad?
I would also add better sex ed, and have it very focused on teaching boys how to use a condom properly.
People are real quick to blame the female when she gets pregnant. All she did was have sex, and that is not wrong and there is not a lot more she can do without difficulty and possible side effects. The male however has almost all the control and simple means to exercise it. Therefore, an accidental pregnancy is almost all the male's fault.
But, thankfully, most females will take responsibility for their babies no matter what. --Cirroc
I'm almost amazed to find myself agreeing with CavemanLawyer for once. In fact I think guys need to be held accountable. If a girl gets pregnant, paternity tests should be done, and the guy needs to be financially liable. If enough guys are being forced to pay child support, perhaps more of them will get the message, that condoms are a good thing, and unsafe sex, is bad!
Lawyer you make a good story, but what if her family didnt know, what if she had money and her insurance was paid, what if she just got pissed because she broke up with her boyfriend because he didnt want a kid and she decided to get rid of the kid because it was ruining her life....
Problems with what ifs is there are too many what ifs...
This isnt the first time this has happened in any country. It happens all too often, and usualy its because the child got pregnent, was afraid to face it and tell anyone, the boyfriend left the girl and she doesnt want to be a single mom with no guys wanting her again so she has the baby in a MCdonalds bathroom and leaves it to die........ This may not be that type, then again it might be...
When do we punish children for doing wrong? Do we always find an excuse for improper actions? When is enough enough???
Wrap that rascal is a great program, but women cant trust a man because most the time they think only with the little head when it comes to this, a woman also has to take precautions....
When do we take the step to help the children? Hopefully before we have to see them in court for killing/leaving a baby.......
Problems with what ifs is there are too many what ifs...
I agree completely. What upsets me is when people always assume the worst and demand perfection of others without considering all the ifs. Also the demands for extreme punishment regardless of the ifs and devoid of thoughts of forgiveness or the future are also disturbing. We cannot bring the baby back. But as this woman might have more babies we need to guide to her to normalcy. I suspect it was already suffering and anguish that led to this. Piling it on will probably not help the woman. Some people here just enjoy the suffering and anguish of others and want more and more. They are sick people. --Cirroc

Personally, I believe that it takes two to tango. Both boys and girls should get educated about 'the birds and the bees' way before they indulge in the actual activity. At least they would both know how to prevent if they are not yet ready to face the responsibility of caring for a child.

How can we get the things you already suggested?

the only place in the world that lets people walk away for murder.

Is it "acquitted for murder" or "acquitted of murder"? The former sounds odd to me. Is this what the Britons say?

I guess the autopsy didn't help. She should have been subjected to some time nto a suspended one.

The use of the word 'incident' is somewhat inappropriate when talking about the death of a helpless baby. 'Tragedy' would be a better choice.

Thats so true Caveman, but you know I belive law has to be equal when sentencing or else it loses its strenght as a law....
She should have some type of punishment if not jail then community service at a location relevent to the crime... Maybe the baby drop off place...
