24-year-old man missing after grandparents found murdered at home in Ibaraki

IBARAKI —

A 24-year-old man has been missing since his grandparents were found killed at their house on Saturday in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Police said cash had been taken from a safe in the house.

Hiroshi Nishiyama, 82, and his wife Yukiko, 78, were found by their son-in-law, who is the owner of the house, stabbed to death in different rooms around 7 p.m. on Saturday. Police said their 24-year-old grandson, who lives in Tsukuba, has been missing since Saturday afternoon. Police raided his apartment and have issued a warrant for his arrest.

How does the NPA tally it's murder figures? Is family crime considered to be different than murder by a stranger? The death toll at the household is HIGH!! Couldn't he have worn a mask, stuffed a pillow under his shirt and used mace?

Something like this happened about two weeks ago as I recall. The grandson will be found in some forest after taking his life. The grandson must have left a signed confession at the crime sceen for the police to issue a warrant that fast.

I still say that the BUTLER did it!

Considering the ages the victims, this "grandson" probably scored quite a stash of cash. If he had any brains at all, he would have left the country Saturday night. Of course that is a VERY BIG "IF."

I hope the grandparents find peace in the afterlife. I also hope they are able to haunt this little punk for the rest of his miserable life.

After WW2 yukiko was 15 years old and Hiroshi was 19. They belong to generation, who raised Japan after war. They lived their long lifes ...and were killed by own grandson! How this is sad and strange!

there's not enough info in the article to rule out that the grandson might also be a victim. possibly kidnapped to make it look like he did it to get the police off the true culprits. shouldn't rule out any possibilities.

moonbeam good call, but..., this is japan and the stories we find here do have a lot of family killing going on. I would wait to see if he turns up or not. We also don't know what clues were found at the scene of the crime.

moonbeams...just to be safe always figure that the BUTLER did it until the police can prove otherwise.

it seems that this grandson was spoiled by the grandparents according to TV, he often comes to them to ask money and maybe they wisen up and started to say no...a sum of money was missing according to the news. I say the grandson is guilty
