MIYAGI —

Police on Wednesday placed a 28-year-old man on a nationwide wanted list for the murder of a 17-year-old girl who was found in a river in a mountainous area of Miyagi Prefecture on July 1.

Katsuyuki Obara, 28, was placed on the nationwide wanted list for allegedly strangling Kozue Sato, 17, inside his car and dumping her body in the river sometime between June 28 and July 1.

According to police investigations, Obara lured Sato to a convenience store in Tome City on the afternoon of June 28. Sato was reported missing later that day and was found dead in the river near the town of Kawai about 100 km from the convenience store.

Police said Obara’s crashed car was found nearby and that Sato’s belongings, blood and hair have been found so far. Obara’s belongings, such as his driver’s license, were also found near a cliff on the coast about 7 km away from his hometown. Police believe he tried to fake his own suicide.

Is this the same "nationwide wanted list" that the guy who is suspected of murdering that British woman last summer is on?

If so, enjoy your life of freedom, Obara.

How many days in a row is it now we have seen another senseless murder or assault?

What about we put a stockade at the Shibuya crossing. Like in the old days, criminals were put on display locked by neck and hands with a sign detailing their crime and the victim's name.

The current methods are obviously not working, perhaps it's time to go back to the old ways.

JN police might as well focus on tracking down more Yakuza... This guy could be living in a building across the street from a Koban and the police would never be the wiser....

My guess, he'll find some 18 or 20 year kogal in Tokyo to move in with and pay the rent, while he lures other girls into his pad...

Now as long as he doesn't kill anybody else, or piss off his next live-in, to the point where she reports him to the police... he'll be fine...

(or get caught without a bicycle license...ha ha ha)

As somebody else said...Enjoy your new life and freedom...
