TOKYO —
A total of 29 people, including a company executive who is a Chinese national, have been arrested on suspicion of counterfeiting official documents such as passports and foreign resident registration cards, police said Wednesday.
The police allege that the ring, led by company executive Ren Bing and her husband, produced around 10,000 fake official documents between June 2006 and March this year and sold them to about 4,000 Chinese and other foreign nationals residing illegally in Japan for a total of around 80 million yen.
