3 murdered in Nagoya house; 4th family member found dead in mountains
NAGOYA —
Police said Saturday that three people were found murdered in a house in Nishi Ward, Nagoya.
The three were identified as real estate company owner Sumio Hayakawa, 68, his wife Noriko 64, and her mother Shizue, 84.
According to police, the three were found by the Hayakawas’ 35-year-old son at about 9:30 a.m. Police said that Sumio had been beaten several times about the head, while Noriko and Shizue had been strangled with ties, which were still around their necks.
Meanwhile, NHK reported Sunday that the body of the Hayakawas’ 39-year-old daughter, who had been missing, was found near her abandoned car in the mountains in Komaki City. Police were quoted as saying that the woman had apparently hanged herself from a tree.

Old school business. Until you know the backstory...

Either bad dealings with someone or the daughter snapped and is not missing but running.

I heard of a Columbian necktie, first I hear of a Japanese necktie. Must have been spur of the moment to use such desperate methods for killing, obviously an acquaintance ..

has any one thought to suspect the son? A lot of criminals who kill their families stay around to see the family being taken away by police or they are the ones to call in the call. I'm not saying he did it but why kill the family, and leave the son, and the daughter is gone so she might be dead. Again I'm not saying it was the son, I don't even know the full story or the clues but don't rule out the son just yet

Obviously, the daughter did it then killed herself.

This was an execution and should be investigated as such. Mafia real estate

Could be the brother. Now he gets all the cash and assets?

I love reading all the "armchair detectives'" theories on any crime on this website. All pure speculation.

I thought the first couple of comments were sarcasm until I realized the information about the daughter being found was added to the story later. It would be great if JT would put an "Edited At hh:yy:" blurb between the original information and the new information.

Wow! It seems that every other day you read about in-family murders in Japan. Does anyone else think this is unusual or is it just me?

Hasn't been updated. Daughter seems to have been a parasite single who "volunteered" and adopted EIGHT dogs. Again, no job and no money. Perhaps mom and dad put their foot down and the 39 year old snapped?

I wonder if there
s any statistical data comparing family member murder-suicides in Japan with other so-called advanced countries. Id hazard a guess that Japan would be right up there in the league tables.1
Fadamor
Any such statistics would be quickly buried in the archives because to release that kind of information would upset the "wa" of Japanese bureaucracy.

Oyatoi, I also wonder but as Fadamor stated, we know what would happen with the data!
