My younger brother Rodney got nicked in 1980 for smoking whacky baccy. He got a 200 nicker fine and a suspended sentence. These days the kids don't get nothing!! no wonder they are all out of their heads , the cocky little swines.

Japan, don't become like Britain, you'll regret it.

I don't agree with Jeremy Paxton on this issue.

Crack down on the crack heads. These people think this substance should be legalized without control? Pathetic. I've seen it destroy my friend and it owns him no matter how much he tries to deny it.

so let me see: I see young guys, girls, old dudes, obasans you name it puking on the streets late at night near the izakayas, I read these reports about the health risks of tobacco, and then I read these reports about weed being non-toxic, non-addictive, actually some studies claim it is good for your health. but still, it is illegal, makes the yakuza scumbags rich, and puts some curious kids trying to be cool as they seen in movies in prison. me don't understand and no, I'm not smoking. not in Japan, that is

Weed makes you lazy, that is about the extent of the danger of the Holy Herb. But this can be avoided with a simple rule: No toking when you have things to do, wait until you're finished. So, the big trouble with weed is solved. Put on some Clapton or Marley and happy toking.

I did mention in my last comments that there are many more students on this 'Plant of God,' but no one believe me. You must understand that they just couldn't keep away from this habit. The only solution is to hang frew more 'Drug Lords,' and lock up for life distributors and dealers. When students or anyone else smoke this plant they are living in another world.

    BBLeo

It is a bloody great other world they are in. Much better than the humdrum la-la land most Japanese live in 24/7.

Ever tried it BBLeo? Bet you havent. Cmon lighten up, man, its only pot. You sound like Kazuhide from Japanzine, giggle giggle.

Skin up, take a toke, and bong on, BBLeo.

I agree with Jeremy Paxman, make it legal, so the government can sell it, tax it and put the money to good use. Gawd, waht a marvellous idea!

But isnt one part of the joy of dope is that it isnt subject to tax, and your hard earned doesnt go to an evil corporation? "Grow your own, smoke responsibly and well leave you alone" suits me.

My goodness - not Waseda students again? First they organize a kind of rape club, and now they are into drugs as well - what a bad lot.

  • realist at 09:29 PM JST - 16th November

Interesting that Waseda produces more politicians and prime ministers than any other uni. Power for the course?

  • gogogo at 12:07 AM JST - 17th November

I hope this is an individualism choice rather than a trend to do.

  • thepro at 08:49 AM JST - 17th November

Cops targetting university students is so low. Lets the kids live their youth.

Samurias use to smoke weed back in the days,, weed was widely cultivated here until america came and Messed things up. I really think Japanese university students need to blaze one once in a while,, there is too much stress and pressure at university. people dont realise how easy it is to get weed in Japan, and also how hard it is to get caught ( my advice to you students be careful who you smoke with, where u smoke it and how often you smoke it, and also always keep some aloe ( the juice or the raw plant just in case any drug tests) and drink alot of green tea too.
