WHERE`S THE BEEF???, well well well, when japan banned the imports of US beef, i was telling my friends that when you go to Hawaii to eat beef, and they did. and it was tasty they said. Now when japan blocked the beef, were american NOT eating beef???? hell no. same as SKorea..clearly hypocrites

Don't know which is more revealing, the crime in question or the lack of coverage by the local media ! WTF is this all about ! 3 tons of J beef disguised as crab ? Now I'm no smuggler by trade, but one thing I do know is that when someone is about to engage in such illegal activity, the first thing is to send out some small trial sizes to see if they get through. hen little by little up the weight. 3 tons ??? This indicates that this has been going on for some time now !

And what about the lukewarm responses here at JT ? Seems to me anytime an "accidental" case of unedible backbones arrives from the USA, you all are up in arms... oh the horror ! Now what we have here is no "accident" ! Not only were the boxes mislabeled but paperwork had to be forged, dozens of people had to be told to keep their mouths shut, wrappers, boxers, movers and haulers... they all knew what was going on ! The four names mentioned here are just the top brass... lets take em all down I say ! And I guarantee you this, none of that beef was ever inspected for bse, hormones, chemicals... nothing ! You really think these meat distributors are going to go to the expense of testing 3 tons of meat they are going to unload on an unsuspecting nation of chinese ???

When is Japan going to get serious about it's domestic food supply and all the scandals created because it lacks a consumer watchdog ? Less time worrying about American beef and more time spent on real criminals here in Japan !

Stupid thing is an "expert" on NHK (which I happened to see at an electronics store, 'cos I rarely to never watch TV) said that "They'd have had much better luck putting the beef in with a shipment of tuna." With incompetents like these, who needs terrorists?
