A 44-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident Early Sunday morning in Hanyu, Saitama Prefecture, police said.
At around 1 a.m., police received a call from a passerby, saying that a man was lying unconscious on a road and was bleeding from his head, Fuji TV reported.
The man, identified as Kenichi Hakoshima, a company employee from Hanyu, was taken to a hospital, but was pronounced dead soon after.
According to police, the area where the accident occurred was a single lane street. There were clear tire marks, showing that Hakoshima may have been hit and dragged along before the vehicle left the scene.

Wow, poor man RIP. Japan has way too many single lane streets, many of which parade as two-way roads.
