4WD plows into money van but leaves cash

AICHI —

A 4WD slammed into a van carrying about six million yen as it entered a pachinko carpark in Toyokawa City, at around 9.20 on Sunday morning.
When the two employees got out of the van, two men from the 4WD approached them, attacking them with a fire extinguisher and threatening them with what appeared to be a stun gun, but took off in another vehicle without the cash or anything else.
Both men were described as approximately 170 cm tall and around 30 years old.

Not the brightest bulbs these guys? Short of the 4WD being a reinforced pinkie (or a Hummer) trying to hit another vehicle is not going to do that much damage.

They took off in another vehicle. Sounds like it was all planned. Also sounds like they were trying to send a warning/message to someone. I put my money on the Yaks.

Timeon got it right. Intimidation. If they wanted the cash they would have taken it. What they want is the cash every week for the rest of the parlors time.

What a lucky 4WD! Just as well fire extinguisher was around, otherwise they will use wheels to atack guards. Doesn't security in Japan use firearms for protection? If they don't it is nice invitation for 'scumbags.'

Stupid criminals or maybe they were just in a rage about hitting the van and didn't really plan to rob it.
