58-year-old woman arrested for harassing former lover’s son with emails

CHIBA —

Police arrested a 58-year-old woman on Thursday accused of violating anti-stalking laws by repeatedly sending emails via her cell phone to the eldest son of the man she used to live with.

Police said Kimiko Tomita, a part-time employee and resident of Togane City in Chiba Prefecture, and the man, 48, had been in a relationship for a few years and lived together in Nagoya City before moving to Chiba in July last year. The man moved back to Nagoya in early November, at the request of his eldest son who said he wanted to live with his father, police said.

Tomita is accused of sending 12 malicious emails to the man’s 13-year-old son between Nov 13 and Nov 19, with some of them telling him to die and others calling him stupid and other names.

That should be considered Spam. Okinawans love Spam, the type you eat though.

A 58-year old woman harasssing a 13-year old boy...unbelievable. I understand she's very upset for all the troubles she went through in relocation and stuff, but harassing the boy is unbelievable. Good job young man for reporting the matter to the Police....let her get her share of greed and jealousy....

Not very serious matter in my books. It is very clear that she still like this man and his son is a watchdog over him. What punishment is prescribed for such offence JT??? People do anything for love even using revenge to hurt someone.

Yeah, that's going to make him change his mind and move back. Good thinking.

WOW! 58 years old and knows how to use email!

Blocking would not work under one condition... if the emails were being 'spoofed', meaning, not realy sent from her.

THere could be a lot more to this story... needs to be further investigated.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

    13 year olds notwithstanding.

A few things here... hardly stalking with those numbers. Why on earth was she doing this and why on earth did this man move back to be with his son? Plenty of kids all over Japan don't live with their fathers. Why couldn't this kid have moved to be with his dad if it was that important to him? OR was daddy lying and using his son as an excuse to dump her and move back...

Yes, it was absolutely stalking. He clearly wanted her to stop and she refused. Just one e-mail after the request to stop would qualify as stalking in my opinion.

My rough guess on this story, a 48 yr old man with a 58 yr old woman. I bet he realized that he coiuld at least find a younger woman (even though he is getting up there too) and she is upset since her one chance of not "growing old by herself" just walked out on her. I wonder if this is what happens to women who lived life in the fast lane, and now they are too slow to keep up.

Why take it out on a kid. If anything she should be angry with her ex.

Men come at any age. Why can't she just move on with her life rather than getting herself arrested...silly woman..

Talk about a case of cyber-bullying. What is the suspended sentence going to be?

  • neverknow2 at 11:31 PM JST - 23rd January

calling him stupid and other names

What kind of names? Sticks and stones...........

  • ExPrinceska at 11:46 PM JST - 23rd January

If she wants to win back her man, she should win the son. Wrong tactic of bullyng the son. But the age difference was too bog, she should go for somebody older. There are attractice older men out there. Men mature slowly, so 48 y.o. is still a teenager intellectually, so she should not be sad. Good chance to find a mature man now.
