6 minors arrested for disrupting traffic by putting bricks on road

Police in Hirano, Osaka, have arrested six minors for disrupting traffic and causing a motorbike driver to crash.

According to police, the incident occurred on May 10 at around 4:20 a.m. The six boys, aged 13 and 14, placed about 30 small concrete blocks, bricks and PET bottles on a nine-meter-wide road, Fuji TV reported. A 48-year-old man riding a motorbike fell off his bike after it hit one of the obstacles and suffered broken ribs and other injuries, police said.

Prior to the incident, the gang rode their bikes into a nearby convenience store and harassed an employee, police said. The employee then called 110.

The group's leader was quoted by police as saying they thought it would be exciting to see a police car rush to the scene and crash after hitting the obstacles.

The boys, who met through the LINE messaging app, were identified through street surveillance camera footage.

Junk in training .... 13 and 14 years old roam at 4:30 am , I wonder what they will do when they grow...!!

arrest the parents, too, for being so clueless as to what their children are doing. and this would be a great case for suing the butts off the parents.

the incident occurred on May 10th and they kids have just been arrested? I wonder how many police hours went into this search. Make the kids do community service to recoup the wasted money. Might teach them a bit of discipline which is obviously not a priority for the parent. Scum breed scum.

Don't worry boys, just tell the police you were drunk and you'll get off.

@khulifi Oh the irony of your attitude. There still is something in the world called love. These kids absolutely should work for the community to make amends. This reminds me of moral luck. Look in the mirror folks!

"Prior to the incident, the gang rode their bikes into a nearby convenience store and harassed an employee."

How quaint! they are already termed a gang. Is that not what they wanted? These are (assumed) kids with nothing better to do with their free time away from school. They should invest more time with the elderly (assisting and helping out i.e. work).

I am seeing this (groups of students) acting out publicly more and more....The other day is was bottles being thrown and smashed on the main road, prior, shouting and screaming at 2:00 A.M. while smoking and drinking. Throwing trash around everywhere without a concern in the world.

So....what is in the water?

Quite a dumb comment but not surprising. Please note that the perps were MINORS.

Quite right, the punks were minors. Saying they were drunk won't do. The correct thing for them to say is that they were under stress. That will get them lots of sympathy, More than the poor guy who broke his ribs because of them.

Hirano-ku and the Higashi Osaka has a lot of bad stuff going down on a daily basis. It isn't a war zone so to speak but quite rough according to Japanese standards. Osaka has a lot of unreported crime too.

Ho wait a minute here, what kid is up at 4:30am? In Japan, not in America we parents and grandparents would be calling 911 for sure. And the kids will have our foot up their butt.

And if somebody was hurt or killed, the kids would be able to laugh it off and walk away.

No, just don't like how many on here try to mock the court system in Japan when they have no clue how it actually operates whether there or in their country of origin.

I theink the being drunk and under stress is perfect. Makes these bosozoku punks seem like victims.

What were they doing out in the wee hours? They should be in juku!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Either we turn them into community service laborers for a few thousand hours or grind them up into pet food.

Someone could have been killed - like the mother or father of a family driving along that road, or even the whole family themselves. They knew exactly what they were doing, and devised and executed a plan. That to me is premeditation. So, even though they are minors, they deserve the death penalty. I don't want my tax money wasted on housing these thugs in juvenile detention.

Every single one of us knows they had a poor upbringing and are even now only in the late stages of said upbringing. I do feel a bit of pity for them, as its plain as day their parents are not worth the weight of the water in their bodies. I thank my lucky stars I did not have such parents. These ones should be off to reform school pronto and hope for the best.

Jalapeno: I agree with u, but the death penalty? For minors? I would say grounded for life, community service, and payment of all health bills for the victim's injuries.
