hope we dont hear in a day or two that the wife's prints were on the knife but have a sinking feeling we'll hear the "i was tired of caring for him/her" line again. hopefully I'm wrong

the front and backdoors were unlocked when she returned home? or the front and rear doors "had been" unlocked when she returned home.
is she trying to insinuate that somebody picked the lock on the front door, and then let themselves out the back door, after they stabbed this poor guy to death?
Wife did it. Lock her up.

It is shame to read such stories all around the world. Is 'Global Warming' working so hard on young people to make them such criminals. There is no respect for elderly and hush punishment is not helping much to prevent such crimes. Japan you are not the only one, most of the world has turned against elderly. Perhaps there is a revenge because their birth into this miserable world.

I am quite convinced that the old lady have a part of it. Try imagining taking care of a bedridden relative for 10 years without break or help and there is no money around too...you will break

A little sleep deprivation and food deprivation will get the truth out of her. That's why it's used here. Japanese cave in easily.

This happened only a few km from where I used to live. It's a really peaceful area and it's not inconceivable that the wife left the doors unlocked when she went shopping, given that her husband was at home.
Apparently a 76-year-old woman's been found murdered in her home in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, as well. In that particular case, it seems that the window was smashed to gain entry to the house.
