Wonder why he selected this particular young woman?

Physical violence, death threat, kidnapping. Not a bright future.

  • slappayuki at 06:26 AM JST - 20th October

There is no proof against the man whatsoever.

Westerners love to project what they think is wrong about Japan on people who are arrested for crimes that are never convicted.

HAW-HAW, there ain't no prrof against this oldster!! The coppers knocked on his door and a bloody girl ran out. I guess she was clean'n his pipes and bumped her head. That funny phone call wasn't a ransome it was just her cuss'n!!

Well, its good to see the old boy is not saying a peep. Sure the cops look tough and all when they can sweat a confession out of somebody. Lets see them build a case with Mr. Abacus keeping silent. See what the courts do with a he says/she says case.

He is mentally disturbed, now the girl will fear old Japanese men for life. I hope the girl will get psychiatric care.

If Mr Ichikawa really did confine this young woman then I hope they throw the everything at him. But there have been quite a few cases in Japan where teenagers have tried to extort money from the elderly, so I am not ready to jump to conclusions to quickly on this one.

I wonder if the girl dressed inappropriately causing this old guy to lose his mind and turn to lust. Then after ravaging and having self glorification, he came to senses and decided to make some money while at it?

maybe she was behind in lesson payments. 3 million behind.

    slappayuki,

Granted, there hasn't exactly been a confession, much less a trial, but your claim of no proof is a bit exaggerated. The girl fled from the man's home when the police were sent to investigate based on the ransom demand sent from HIS phone to the girl's mother. While not conclusive evidence, it certainly constitutes circumstantial evidence.

I'm not sure where anyone is getting a "hentai" vibe from this story. It seems the old guy slapped the girl around a bit to keep her confined while he made his ransom demands. Sounds like a purely money-motivated (alleged) crime.

Reading the Japanese news on this incident, the girl was found by police in Ichikawa's house, rolled up in a futon which was tied shut with rope/cord, and with extensive facial bruising.

Maybe he was angry that she did not comply like in those adult manga/anime/movies.

While I am not sure that the man had a sexual fixation on high schools, I have a lot of evidence that some posters do.

For one minute of your lives, but your fixation aside and imagine that the geezer really just wanted money. --Cirroc

While I am not sure that the man had a sexual fixation on high schools
