Police in Tokyo are investigating the death of a 71-year-old man whose body was found at the entrance to his home on Friday.

According to police, Hisayuki Amari, who lived alone, was found lying face up at the entrance to his home in Satagaya Ward at around 8 a.m. by his eldest daughter, 41, who lives nearby, TBS reported Monday. Amari was taken to hospital where he died at around 1 p.m.

Police were quoted as saying that the area around Amari's left eye showed signs of physical trauma, bone fracturing and bruising on his legs.

Amari was last seen in the company of two female acquaintances at a snack bar at around 1 a.m. Friday, police said.

I bet somebody saw him flashing his cash at the hostess club, and he resisted when they tried to rob him.

Sounds to me like there is possible a jealous man some where who beat this guy up for flirting with his hostess

I'd be more inclined to go not paying his bill at the club.

I actually felt sorry for the victim until I read the last paragraph.

@kitzrow

A bit Puritan, no?

Who knows, maybe his wife had died and he was lonely. I would say RIP, but it always seems false in the case of a stranger.

I think the old guy was done in by a jealous husband.

...or his wife, thinking about it...

WTF! So going to a snack joint leading to DEATH is OK! Are you nuts! 99.9999% of these places(I hate them as I find them boring & I end up drinking way to much scotch to make the experience "interesting") are totally harmless, hell most are runs by elderly ladies with the gift of the gab, like I said I don't like them but they sure as hell shouldn't mean going to one is a death sentence!

Bruising in the elderly? as the skin begins to thin is very common along with bone which has become fragile or insubstantial. Of course the Police should investigate the death of all and every death which arouses suspicion even a drunk stumbling home or left at the gate of the house. I'm lucky to be alive for the amount of times I have fallen into the small open irrigation waterways at the side of some roads

Reads like a game with clues written on a card that you draw

...the cash card in Amari's wallet is missing.

RIP

We live on the fringe of the "entertainment district" near Hachioji eki. You can always see elderly men, dressed up and holding their wallet/purse, walking in the company of young women. They're very often either going to or coming from a hostess club, or on their way to a love motel (I've seen them enter together). To be honest, if I was old, single, and had wads of cash to throw away, I might do that. To the women I say "Aren't you embarrassed selling yourself to an old man?

If that's true, maybe he fell down the stairs drunk, and they claimed he was beaten to "save face" for the family. Better to say he was attacked, than to tell the kids Jiji got drunk and fell down the stairs.

Another day another person was killed by criminal. What Japanese polices are doing?

Japan is not safest place for elderly peoples anymore. Crazy peoples are going out and kill someone for nothing.

Japanese Government must do something about increasing crimes in Japan and especially violent against elderly persons and parent by their own children. Strong economy is good but Government needs to pay attention on Japan damage society.
