8 men arrested over murder of coworker

FUKUI —

Eight men have been arrested over the murder of their 35-year-old coworker, whose body was found in Minamiechizen, Fukui Prefecture, in February. The body of Masaharu Kurauchi, originally from Gifu Prefecture, was found lodged between wave breakers at the coast.

Police said Sunday that evidence strongly suggests a group of coworkers from the recruitment company at which Kurauchi worked conspired to transport his body from Gifu to Fukui to dispose of it. The group includes 41-year-old Kenji Osato and 43-year-old Takanori Goto, as well as a minor who has not been named.

According to police, some of the group have confessed to being involved in the dumping of Kurauchi’s body, while others still deny the accusation. Police investigations are ongoing as to the motive and circumstances of the crime.

Wow. That many people willing to help out with body disposal? That's some sort of teamwork. If they are anything other than yakuza, I imagine it's quite a story.

Team work at the extreme, 8 people and not 1 of them said "wait a minute this is not cool", they should work at TEPCO.

Cricky, I'm thinking: a) they all feel sorry for the guy who did it. As it, the dead guy had been bullying him for months and he finally defended himself and it just happened to end in a freak accidental death. (I've recently read "Out" by Kirino Natsuo). b) and yes, with a group of co-conspirators so large, things are bound to go wrong sooner rather than later.

Taj...not sure where you got the extra information, maybe the bully forced the others to help hide his actions. Whatever the story there is always a leader and for murder a strong one.

Just to be clear, Cricky the only extra "information" is coming from my imagination. For all I know the deceased was a saint.

Actually, I'm wondering if those confessions were coerced or not.
