I agree with the UN panel that the J-gov't should stir public debate, but urging the people to realize "the abolishment of capital punishment is desirable" is ridiculous. Let people decide on their own and hold a referendum (or jan-ken?).
If do the crime then you do the time, if you kill you will face your maker, and we can go on and on,WHAT about the VICTIM! why do we always forget about the victim.

For very serious crimes, death penalty should stay. The oly way to resolve that is to have a referendum, and let people decide.
