He's guilty of manslaughter in my book.

tkoind2, there is no legal basis for holding him liable for manslaughter or any other homicide-related crime. In fact, if I watch a car hit a person and watch that person slowly bleed to death, I will not be held legally responsible for that death for failing to help - even if I knew that calling an ambulance would have saved their life. Unless Oshio actually forced the drugs on her, he should not be held legally responsible for her death. Having said that, I do agree that it is a moral responsibility to aid someone in need, particularly when it is simply picking up the phone. Whatever happens to this man legally, he should be, and hopefully will be, known as a spineless coward who let a woman die when he could have prevented it.

He is setting himself up to get off with a suspended sentence. The fact she was still alive meant no abandoning body sentence. He is also saying he tried to revive her. Which is trying to show their was no neglect. Which is reducing the charges.

In that case, why not just say he left after the woman told him she felt faint. Less damning than saying you tried to pump her failing heart and took off when it looked iffy?

at her recommendation...RUBBISH!!! If she had a cardiac arrest it seems unlikely that she was in the habit of taking the stuff. What a lying little weasel this bloke is.Easy to blame the dead.I hope they get info on this guy and find some stash (if his production company haven't already cleaned his apartment..which we should assume they did)

  • Osakadaz at 02:49 PM JST - 7th August

I also doubt his cardiac massage story..most Japanese people I know have no idea how to do CPR.I had to help a young nurse tending to a girl who had smashed her head on the platform last week..most people were just gawking.I got covered in blood. This guy is clearly going for the sympathy vote.

I am not a lawyer, but there must be precident in which participants in a mutually dangerous activity were held accountable for a fatal outcome. We have seen companies charged with negligent homicide for producing improper products or for failing to provide an appropriate response to a problem. So I do think there must be legal examples of where someone was held accountable for failure to act.

Additional, if he provided the drugs, or in any way enticed her to take them, and we don't know the true answer to this question, he could be liable. But surely there is legal recourse for leaving someone to die.

In any case this guy should be socially and legally crucified.

As for CPR. Most people here do not even know basic first aid. Further I have seen people trying to move people who have fallen or been hit. And I can name many cases in which people ignored people in distress. Japan needs to address this shameful problem.

Osakadaz,Surely,The guy is full of shit, but will probably get off.Good work on the platform!

read that the police/jpress announced that the dead woman's lab results showed no trace of any drugs at all. also wonder if oshio's druggy-like appearance the following day at the police station leading to the urine testing wasn't fear-induced rather than drug-induced.

  • tkoind2 at 05:40 PM JST - 7th August

Is it true that she tested with no drugs? If that is the case then this guy is in a lot more trouble. 30 something year old women rarely drop dead suddenlywhile hanging with "talento". Unless subjected to their music for prolonged periods.

Is this idiot another of those flaky herbivore men?

  • womanforwomen at 06:45 PM JST - 7th August

I find it hard to believe that the young people here do not have the knowledge of drugs. Hemp, shabu and speed are quite well known here. I read about it in taima.org. People in the Showbiz are very aware of these things. And it was said that the Jladies use some kinds to keep fit. And this darling herbivore is expecting everyone to believe what he says?

  • Nessie at 07:01 PM JST - 7th August

So then what's the cause of death?

And if he were a herbivore man he'd be hanging at the salon and not consorting with an actual (nonn-inflatable) member of the opposite sex.

he tried cardiac massage on her as she fell unconscious

So he killed her with an unprofessional and presumably unnecessary heart massage.

  • smithinjapan at 11:13 PM JST - 7th August

combinibento: "In fact, if I watch a car hit a person and watch that person slowly bleed to death, I will not be held legally responsible for that death for failing to help - even if I knew that calling an ambulance would have saved their life."

If you asked her to wait on the street with you, where you know bloody well your chances of getting hit are high, and you drag her around the street a bit after she's hit (unnecessary heart massage... since he admits he didn't know what was going on, what he was doing, etc.), you're guilty of something in terms of her death.

Anyway, the guy is clearly lying. I think he just bailed when the woman left, called his manager, and was encouraged to take off and try to hide. He got nabbed, thanks to cameras, and now management better think of a way to distance themselves quickly.
